Romantic Getaway Series | Kimo Estate, New South Wales

Sydney is one of the world's most iconic cities, yet even us Sydneysiders need to escape the daily grind now & then. For some of us, being cooped up in our homes for the last few months most likely means that you are absolutely dying for that getaway. Luckily for us we have so many beautiful places right on our doorstep. The desire to get away has been accelerated more than ever & especially when romance calls & you want to spend that quality one on one time with your significant other.

With everyone slowly coming out of isolation earlier this month, we were lucky enough to stay at the secluded yet popular Windies Cottage by Kimo Estate.

If you haven't heard about Kimo Estate & all the unique contemporary places you can stay on their estate then you absolutely must put it on your list!

Full of both character & charm. Simply take a look at their instagram feed, without a doubt you will get instant fomo @kimoestate
If you like what you see this is not the place to book a last minute stay, you are looking at booking at least 3 months in advance to secure your spot. - Totally worth the wait!

Personally cosying up to the fire with a nice vino (bottle), devouring delicious cheese with solid company will do it for me.

Anddddd.. Speaking of cheese, the road trip up (approximately 4hrs) was not only the perfect way to start off the trip spending some quality time with my special one but it was also the perfect pit stop for some local pantry produce. We purposely didn't pack any food, the plan was to spoil ourselves & support all the local small businesses along the way. You just can't buy the kinds of indulgent treats you find out in the countryside anywhere else.

We stopped in Jugiong at the "Long Track Pantry Cafe" which was the perfect haven for foodies who love to indulge in the local produce. We had lunch, a sneaky vino & stocked up on all our antipasto delights with no holding back! (best idea ever) for our cosy night in.

It was at the Long Track Pantry where we discovered the most deliciously smooth locally made artisan "Double Brie" by Coolamon Cheese. - To. Die. For!

We even stopped there again on the way back & purchased all the Coolamon Brie they had left in stock it was that delicious. (Wasn't going to share this hidden gem but thought it would be mean not too - thank me later).

On arrival to the cottage we found ourselves travelling down a long dirt road, with the gorgeous scenic farm estate on either side. Mother nature was incredibly nice to us & even welcomed us with a double rainbow.

With June being the start of winter my initial thought process was - pack warm you are going to freeze your tits off. However the cottage was nothing but toasty once the wood fire was going, electric blankets were turned on & they even have a split system for extra warmth.

Although our stay at Windies Cottage was for a cheeky romantic getaway the cottage itself actually accommodates for upto 5 people. The two bedroom self contained cottage could also be perfect for a family getaway or even a gals trip.

We will definitely be back!! Next time we would love to make use of those gorgeous eco-huts!

Thank you Kimo Estate for the welcoming & memorable stay!
